Ice Water Plants

Optimal Temperatures for Optimal Concrete Production

Used in aggregate cooling and concrete batching, and available in capacities ranging from 20 to 400 cubic meters per day, Morris & Associates’ highly efficient ice water plants produce consistent, chilled 0.5° C water. Each system uses a four-stage process to achieve and maintain this optimal temperature:

  •  Stage 1—An evaporative condenser reduces compressor loads, resulting in an exit temperature of 33º C
  • Stages 2 & 3—Stainless steel plate heat exchangers further cool the water, lowering the temperature to 7º C
  • Stage 4—Shell and tube heat exchangers, which are more energy-efficient than ice banks and produce more consistent temperatures, are used to achieve the final temperature of 0.5º C

If a modular system would best suit your needs, one of our application engineers can work with you to design a scalable, modular ice water plant.
